AliExpress Collaborates with Pos Indonesia to Cut Delivery Time
Ever since entering Indonesia last year, AliExpress has never stopped penetrating the market as well as improving the quality of its services. After a successful collaboration with Doku last year, the startup keeps looking to perfect its services and give the best online shopping experience to consumers by partnering with local delivery service providers. That being said, Singapore Post and Pos Indonesia have been appointed to be AliExpress’ trusted partners in delivery.
When adding Doku into their list of partners, AliExpress was on the verge of finalizing their payment methods. Today, the startup has supported payments done through 45.000 ATM across Indonesia (within the network of ATM Bersama, Alto, and Prima) and internet banking (Mandiri Clickpay and the upcoming BRI e-pay). In addition, users may also do the offline method by paying through 9.000 Alfa Group’s stores (including Alfamart, Alfa Midi, Alfa Express, DAN+DAN, and Lawson).
AliExpress’ Global Operations & Expansion Strategy Director Joe Yang voiced his opinion, ”Through such partnership, online shoppers have the privilege to choose one out of millions of products, including those of Indonesian brands, in a safe and convenient way. We are pretty sure that we can keep running a better online shopping atmosphere for online shoppers in Indonesia and the world.”
To cover its logistic necessities, AliExpress will partner with Singapore Post and Pos Indonesia to undergo its deliveries. By this collaboration, it only takes two weeks (14 days) for an item to reach Jakarta from China. Much faster than the previous duration, which could stretch to 35 days. Unfortunately, the service has yet been available at the moment, with AliExpress commits to inform its official launching later this month.
Mohamad Said, Pos Indonesia’s Vice President for International Service, confirmed that Pos Indonesia is about to contribute in the program by providing 6000 couriers all over Indonesia. To supervise and track their orders, customers may access the EMS section of Pos Indonesia.
