Indosat Partners With Smaato To Build Mobile Advertising Platform

Indosat and Smaato announced that they are working together on partnership in mobile advertising platform for Indonesian brands and agencies. This partnership will allow both companies to build and sell the hyper-local mobile advertising solution which is cheap and innovative. With this joint effort, both parties hoped to deliver values to Indonesian consumers, application developer, and mobile advertising publishers.

In regard to this cooperation, the Indosat CEO, Alexander Rusli, says, “Indosat commits to increase its capability and offer a digital solution which is helpful for the Indonesian consumers and will help them increasing their lifestyle. The cooperation with Smaato, which is one of the leading and most effective mobile platforms in the world, will help us bringing the relevant and appropriate advertising solution to the Indonesian customers, so that they can take appropriate consumption decisions. We hope to widen our strategic cooperation on purposeful and innovative advertising solution with Smaato in the future, as well as maintain our position as the leading company to face the global demands.”

The CEO and co-founder of Smaato, Ragnar Kruse, adds, “Indonesia is one of most interesting market for global brands advertisement in the world, for its large population, high cellphones and internet penetration, and rapid growing middle class society with high level of consumption. We see the high growing potential in digital advertising area, because the Indonesian citizens adopt the mobile technology and use it for doing researches, discussions, and taking the consumption decisions.”

Furthermore, Kruse highlights, “By having Indosat, which has high entrepreneurship spirit as well as commitment in growing the digital ecosystem in Indonesia, as our partner, we hope that we can create a strong mobile advertising team, which will provide innovative solution for the brands and consumers.”

This step taken by Indosat is in line with the Dunia Digital business unit which offers mobile advertising solution as one of its leading products. According to Redwing, the digital advertisement segment will increase rapidly in these three years with the expected total value of $1,6 billion (around Rp18 trillion) in 2017. Currently, the total value of digital advertisement segment in Indonesia is still on the amount of $100 million (around Rp1,2 trillion). This limited market is something that both Indosat and Smaato aim.
