MNC Follows Emtek to Invest in iflix

Iflix is to air MNC-produced content in its platform

Today (4/3) iflix video streaming service announces investment from MNC Group with undisclosed amount. It also results in strategic partnership between the two.

One of its realizations, iflix has the right to air 10.000 hours worth of MNC popular content, few hours after its premier on TV. Furthermore, David Fernando Audy as MNC's CEO also appointed as board of advisory in iflix

"Indonesia has shown to have essential market for iflix. MNC's resource and influence in this industry will bring advantages to execute our strategy, while we reach for the top position in the Indonesia's digital entertainment industry," Mark Britt, iflix's Co-Founder and Group CEO said.

However, David Fernando also mentioned, "MNC always looking for ways to monetize our content and will be glad to take part in this growing digital monetization by having partnership with iflix. In the meantime, we also choose to invest equity in iflix because we believe this company will rise up in the future."

This iflix's second strategic partnership with Indonesian conglomerate. Previously, in March 2016, Emtek has announced the investment to iflix for company's digital innovation.

The involvement of MNC is also part of iflix's corporate round. In April 2019, the video on demand company has finalized a similar investment with Yoshimoto Kogyo, a conglomerate based in Osaka, Japan.

In addition, iflix is now available globally, also outside Southeast Asia.
