MySellr.com is Ready for Indonesian Market

One Swedish company owned by Indonesian, MySellr.com, is preparing to enter the market and serve the users in Indonesia. Mysellr is an online shopping platform, today, is integrated with Facebook, these services provide facilities that could make a Facebook page of the brand owner or retailer into an online store with various facilities.

Mysellr provide services for users who want to sell on Facebook, but with the look and amenities like a regular online store, a facility that can later be used by the users, setting the stock of goods, and shopping cart facilities, management of goods and invoice management.

The display in your store will also show your logo and store information, the search field, category of goods, delivery options services, payment methods and various other facilities include a facility to make special offerings when there are discounts of products or goods. Currently their service is limited to Facebook Store, but if you look at their site, there will also be Facebook Marketplace facilities.

MySellr based in Sweden, but they run their development centers in Jakarta, Hermawan Tjakradiwiria the original Mysellr founder, a Sundanese and grew up in Depok, explaining that the team which is in Jakarta now has 7 people and will handle all the technical stuff from Jakarta. Then why in Sweden, Hermawan Tjakradiwiria have been 5 years studying in Sweden, he and his colleagues at Mysellr get funding (angel) from the ESEA Invest AB stem from www.121.nu, which is one of the largest local directory companies in Sweden. So, in MySellr today, angel investors join on board management.

While in Jakarta, currently they are under Hermawan own company name and preparing to set up PT Mysellr Indonesia. The market share they want to achieve, among others is in Sweden, Romania, the International market and also in Indonesia. Each country, Sweden, Romania and Indonesia has its own marketing team.

The strategy also localize, as described by Hermawan Thakradiwiria via telephone, each country has its own uniqueness associated with clients and users, for example in Sweden with telemarketing is enough to find clients, while in Indonesia should be in ways other suitable with the market here, such as flyers, social media etc.. The price is different for each country, so depending on the client where will they setup the company, if you choose from Indonesia the currency and the price will be adjusted with the service setup in Indonesia, as well as in other countries.

Frankly there is an interesting part from the emergence of Mysellr, for DailySocial loyal readers have probably heard a similar service like Mysellr that is Moluko we discussed in March 2010, when I went to Echelon there was one of the booth there offering similar services, but I have not seen the enthusiasm from Facebook users in Indonesia by using a service like Mysellr and Moluko. Sellers still use manual way without a special platform.

Such services may also be available a lot out there, but for Indonesia market today could be a good time to offer services commerce platform on Facebook, when people already know the online store, and tagging photos for sale on Facebook has been very disruptive, making store can be a little easier to hang up products without losing a large mass, because the excess of selling at social network is the number of users. People used to be 'not ready' with facilities like this, different from current conditions.

Asked about the competition and dependence on the Facebook platform, Hermawan Thakradiwiria said Mysellr does not worry, as long as not violating the TOS and policies at Facebook, in addition Mysellr also plans to open the service, including its marketplace outside of Facebook so it does not rely too much on Facebook.

Regarding payment, Hermawan said, "For the payment, in Indonesia it would still bank transfer; especially now with the existing incipient Law on Money collector will be hard to open an Escrow service, but its one service that we are considering. But if there is e-Payment service in Indonesia who are willing to cooperate, such as opening their API services to our implementation here of course MySellr will gladly support the payment system. "

The preparation is fast enough, the development and preparation of 3 months with the really active time for a month seems to be one way not to be left off on the market of a very large Facebook users in Indonesia, both users, vendors and brand owners (who can sell their products apart from Fans Page) who use Facebook as a primary interaction and sell products.

For me, it’s quite interesting to see how the market response to the presence of their service, Hermawan said; they have been talking with several candidates who will use their services, so let's look at the near future, how these services strategy, both in Europe and Indonesia.
