Research In Motion Announces BlackBerry Innovation Center Scholarship Recipients
Research In Motion (RIM) in cooperation with Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), has established BlackBerry Innovation Center to encourage ITB students in developing innovative mobile apps. One form of the program is through the provision of scholarship to students of master and doctoral programs at ITB.
Today, RIM announces eight awardees of Master and Doctoral scholarships. In total, the recipient of the scholarships will be 30 people. Another ten master students and twelve final level undergraduate students as scholarship recipient will be announced this year.
The scholarship offered by RIM covers education cost at ITB and incentive for research during the student’s apprentice period of BlackBerry Innovation Center ITB. Post graduate students will also receive a BlackBerry smartphone and a laptop computer.
During the study period, the students will conduct research at BlackBerry Innovation Center as part of their studies at ITB. The topics of the research are smart logistics, smart healthcare, smart travel/transportation, smart home, smart learning, mobile hardware interface or other research topics. Other than research and mobile app development, scholarship recipients will also be taught about entrepreneurship.
Master degree scholarship recipients are Ardhian Ekawijan, Dicky Arinal, Puspoko Ponco Ratno, and Rizky Ario Nugroho. Doctoral program scholarship recipients are Iqbal Rahmadian Pamungkas, Oktariani Nurul Pratiwi, Susetyo Bagas Bhaskoro and Iksan Nur. These students are expected to bring solution-based and innovative apps with good business potentials.
