Used Car Marketplace BeliMobilGue.co.id Raises 50 Billion Rupiah in Pre-Series A Funding

Marketplace service for used car BeliMobilGue.co.id announces Pre-Series A funding of $3,7 million (approximately 50 billion Rupiah) led by Intudo Ventures. Involved in this funding also Gojek's Co-Founder Michaelangelo Moran and a number of Indonesia's top-tier family companies. The funding is said to be used for raising the presence of physical facility (inspection center), improving sales and marketing efforts, also recruiting new staff.

Launched early last year, BeliMobilGue.co.id tries a new approach for secondhand car sales. Rather than being a marketplace for bridging seller and customer which transaction can last for days or even months, BeliMobilGue initiate further attempt by creating a market.

They collect the verified and qualified buyers (currently 1000 people/institutions) and provide inspection center (17 location right now) to ensure the quality and price offered (to the customer). Therefore they give offering guarantee in one hour. BeliMobilGue.co.id will get commission for each transaction.

Currently, BeliMobilGue.co.id, established by Rolf X. Monteiro as Co-Founder and CEO, is available in Jabodetabek area which owns 58% national car segment. He has experience in leading a number of multinational technology companies in Southeast Asia region.

A different used car marketplace offering

Monteiro explained To DailySocial, "Automotive sales sector in many countries has consistently showing degradation. Although the demand is increasing, there is lacking in marketplace which believed and centralized by customer to buy and sell their car efficiently with a competitive price."

"Our unique offering [differed with other marketplace] is the ownership of data we managed, which helped us to give instant information of our several pricelist and 60 minutes experience in our inspection center will give a comfort environment. If you're not take the offering, there is no additional cost," he continued.

BeliMobilGue.co.id is a joint venture of Berlin-based FrontierCar Group and Indonesia-based Intudo Ventures. Frontier Car Group has a specific platform for used car marketplace in developing countries.

This year's plan

Monteiro ensures, the funding will be used to increase the number of inspection center in Jabodetabek.

"Inspection center is an essential thing for us. It is a place where we first met with the owners and their vehicles. Our focus is not only for area expansion, but also to ensure the quality of its service and experience meeting customer's expectation."

Regarding of potential national expansion, including to the neighbor countries, he ensures, "We've done intensive research and will be very excited to expand abroad. Nevertheless, it is very important for us to ensure our main basic marketplace is well taken care, before talking about expansion. By that means, talented people, solid process and sustainable business will help us to start regional expansion as time goes by.

"In 2018, we plan to focus on growing and increasing sales activity rapidly," he said.
