Registration starts from July 9 to July 21, 2012 on Bubu’s Facebook page and website. This competition has 8 categories namely: m-Business and Commerce, m-Government and Participation, m-Learning and Education, m-Entertainment and Lifestyle, m-Tourism and Culture, m-Media and News, m-Environment & Health, m-Inclusion and Empowerment.
There are some requirements that the participant needs to meet. Participation is open for company, organization and personal active in mobile content industry in Indonesia. This competition does not limit the platform used but requires that the submitted app is no longer a design, demo or prototype. Submitted app must be a product already released around 2010 and 2012. In addition, the app must meet WSIS’s mission to fill the gap in digital world.
Later on, Shinta Dhanuwardoyo and team will select 8 candidates that meet the requirements for each category and have the most potential to represent Indonesia to compete with other candidates from other countries in the WSA-Mobile competition. The previous years, Indonesia representative was selected from Bubu Award’s winners. Because the selection time is longer this year then Shinta initiates to broaden the process.
As reported in the press release, Shinta reveals her optimism that Indonesian representative will be able to do more in this event. Not only for this event but in other competitions, Indonesian mobile app is proven to be able to run and be a strong competitor against other countries.
