After A Year of Operation, Lamudi Indonesia Records Significant Growth

It was April 24, 2014 when Lamudi Global officially entered Indonesia. Under Karan Khetan and Steven Ghoos, Lamudi Indonesia has experienced up to 700 percent of property listing growth so far. Moreover, the company has also published a magazine brand of its own, Property Now, every three months. The magazine can be downloaded at no cost from SCOOP or Google Books, as well as at coffee shops for offline version of it.

Being established in Berlin by Kian Moini and Paul Philipp Herman, Lamudi Global basically eyes for developing markets like Indonesia. Upon entering Indonesian market a year ago, this Rocket Internet’s underling targets on being the most prominent property marketplace in Indonesia after six months of operation. To realize the ambition, the company appointed Karan Khetan and Steven Ghoos to handle the operation in Indonesia. After operating for a year, Lamudi Indonesia has now grown into a giant with more than 50 employees and offices in four big cities in Indonesia.

In his press release, Lamudi Indonesia’s Managing Director Steven Ghoos stated, “The market of property in Indonesia, with tech-savvy middle class, has the potential to be one of biggest online markets in the world. It’s time to have a more efficient and transparent way to find properties, just like what we serve in our portal.”

Lamudi Indonesia now has more than 210 thousand property listings from 246 cities in Indonesia which are for sell or rent. They are able to double the amount in less than six months. Besides, more than 500 property agents have partnered with Lamudi Indonesia, including some top agencies like LJ Hooker, Harcourts, Century21, Keller Williams, and Pro/Max.

To strengthen its position in Indonesia, Lamudi Indonesia has also opened four representative offices in four cities in Indonesia, namely Jakarta, Bandung, Bali, and Surabaya. The office in Surabaya acts as a hub for the Eastern part pf Indonesia. Moreover, Lamudi Indonesia has also launched mobile app for both Android and iOS platforms as of last year.

Recently, Lamudi Indonesia has also released “Dial 4 Home” feature that facilitates property seekers with limited internet access. This service helps users finding properties and providing offline access to Lamudi’s property listing database by contacting Lamudi’s hotline.

Lamudi Indonesia also plans on going “head to head” with existing players in the industry. There will also be more cities to be entered by the platform.
