Jakpat's Survey on Path Users in Indonesia

The total number of Path users in Indonesia has reached more than four million users so far. Thus, it’s not a surprise to see the social platform opening a branch office in Indonesia. The positive responses given by Indonesa toward this platform led by Dave Morin goes along with a number of interestingly unique facts. A survey by JAKPAT (JAJAK PENDAPAT), which included 502 people as respondents, attempts at discovering the facts surrounding Path utilization in Indonesia.

The survey, which divides respondents according to their gender quite equally, revealed that 66.06 percent of Path users are aged between 20 to 25 years old. It’s quite obvious, since it also stated that most of the users have high tendencies on uploading photos (48,68 percent), revealing their activities like listening to music, reading books or watching films (23,18 percent), sharing their location (17,22 percent), and sharing their ideas and initiatives (10,93 percent).

You read that right. The highest percentage of Path utilization goes to photo uploading, and the most uploaded ones are photos explaining their current activities. Interestingly, male users dominate the percentage by 73,47 percent. As for female, most of the photos uploaded tell about their current activities, followed by selfies and food.

Path was basically established as a private social media to share moments with relatives. However, 70 percent of the respoendents admitted that they connected their Path account to other social media.

Regarding their favoorite time of accessing the platform, most of respondents stated that they accessed Path during their leisure time.

They also admitted that in average, they use Path to find out what their relatives do and share their own updates.

The social media trend in Indonesia will indeed expose us to interesting facts. The enthusiasm of Indonesians towards social media which is really high, along with the total population in the country are the immense basis to this.

Path is one of social media that are currently in the spotlight. By the establishment of its office in Indonesia, which is led by William Tunggaldjaja as the Country Manager, Path expects for economic benefits out of the vast-growing trend.
