Judul-Judul Familier Kembali Dominasi Nominasi Game Developers Choice Awards 2016

Mulai 2001, Game Developers Choice Awards dipresentasikan tiap tahun di Game Developers Conference. Pelaksanaannya memang sedikit lebih lambat dibanding perhelatan sejenis, namun tidak salah jika Game Developers Choice Awards disebut sebagai acara paling bergengsi karena dilakukan di tengah-tengah konferensi khusus developer video game profesional.

Tahun ini Game Developers Conference rencananya akan dilangsungkan mulai tanggal 14 sampai 18 Maret. Mendekati ajang tersebut, panitia turut mengumumkan nominasi GDCA ke-16. Daftar terbagi dalam sembilan kategori berbeda, masing-masing berisi lima judul pilihan ditambah honorable mention. Dan di antara mereka, dua permainan familier kembali mendominasi. Keduanya memiliki satu kesamaan: formula open-world.

Seperti yang bisa Anda lihat, The Witcher 3 karya CD Projekt Red masuk dalam Best Visual Art, Best Narrative, Best Technology dan Game of the Year. Metal Gear Solid V juga tidak kalah 'perkasa', berpeluang memenangkan Best Audio, Best Design, Best Technology serta Game of the Year. Di posisi kedua ada Bloodborne dan Fallout 4, masing-masing mempunyai potensi memboyong tiga penghargaan.

Lima permainan di Game of the Year adalah judul-judul kuat, dan saya penasaran siapa yang akan keluar sebagai jawaranya. Sayangnya penyelenggara sama sekali tidak menyebutkan Pillars of Eternity serta Kerbal Space Program. Mereka bahkan tidak ada di honorable mention.

Pemenang akan diumumkan pada tanggal 16 Maret pukul 18:30 di San Francisco Moscone Center.
