LINE Indonesia Announced the Availability of LINE Mobile Drama

Having 30 million users in Indonesia with various apps and content, LINE doesn’t want to be merely a messaging app. The team want to be a mobile platform that unites a lot of smartphone users. Hence, LINE officially launched a free video content service, namely LINE Mobile Drama, yesterday (12/3).

According to LINE Indonesia’s Team Leader Marketing Galuh Chandrakirana, LINE Mobile Drama combines three aspects based on the current trend that exists among the people that may draw their attention

“Nic and Mar is the title of the first LINE Mobile Drama series. It’s symbolizes our attempt in combining three aspects, which are traveling, social TV, and content marketing. LINE Mobile Drama is accessible for free anytime anywhere through your own smartphone,” Chandrakirana claimed.

As a giant, it’s just normal for LINE to have the passion of resurrecting the success they gained upon the publication of its AADC series couple of times ago.

To access the service, users only have to add LINE Story as a friend on their LINE app, and LINE will automatically broadcast each and every episode of their drama series on the designated day. It seems that LINE Mobile Drama is the first step out of steps LINE will make to familiarize Indonesians to LINE TV, which is unaccessible in Indonesia. At least for now.

LINE TV provides various content, from TV drama to variety show, music videos, and many others. Should the service enters Indonesia, it will get direct competition from UseeTV or ViKi.
