The Moment You’ve Been Waiting For : 3 Groupon Clones Launched!
They are Disdus, DealKeren and Fanesia. First, Fanesia claimed that they will launch a few days ago, based on the countdown timer they put on their homepage. Apparently, still no Fanesia. So let’s move on with it.
Disdus is one of the groupon daily deals sites launched this week, founded by the same group of people who founded (and currently still run) Citzel, a location based review site. Jason Lamuda, founder and CEO of both Citzel and Disdus told us that they are going to focus on offline events to support their online presence. This strategy is quite unique but not surprising in Indonesia, might as well leaving other competitors wondering whether they should follow or not.
Another new born player is DealKeren. Well they’re not exactly a new born player, the investors of DealKeren were the successful people behind deal sites in several countries in Asia, Ensogo, Deals.com.sg, mydeal.com.my, piku.jp, lashou.com, dailydeal.de, kolektivas.net, notelapierdas.com and a whole other bunch of similar sites on other countries. This is the reason why DealKeren’s Alexis Hue is very certain that they have advantages compared to other players in Indonesia, they have the experiences.
But when it comes to visitors, all they care is about getting a good deal for themselves, bigger discounts. And competing with several prominent players like AdaDiskon and OgahRugi, both Disdus and DealKeren would have to blow users with unique (and bigger) deals that competitors doesn’t have.
While Fanesia still got some codes to compile.
