Jakarta is Ready to Hold Social Media Week on February 23-27
The influence of tech adoption towards society is really vast and massive. This has created an era where people get connected easily with others. Riding on that momentum, Social Media Week (SMW) was born with a mission to connect billions world citizens in a single tech conference in Jakarta, and others big cities all over the world from February 23 to 27, 2015.
SMW is a prominent media platform and global scale event which will bve located at Pacific Place Mall, Jakarta. The event will discuss about how to profit and live a more productive life in this digital era.
SMW focuses on the impacts inflicted by social media towards social, cultural, and economic aspects around the world. This twice-a-year event (held every February and September) facilitates people and organizations to get connected between each other througn collaboration, education, idea sharing, and many other information. Initially held in Jakarta back in 2009, this year’s SMW will use “Upwardly Mobile: The Rise of The Connected Class” as its theme.
Connected Class is a term used by SMW which refers to a part of the community which has been connected and possessed internet access. In addition, there are currently three billion people getting classified into this class, and the number is predicted to be doubled by 2022.
By the theme, SMW will try to deeply analyze what human can further accomplish in this all-connected era. This event is a good opportunity for those who involve themselves in Indonesian tech industry. Besides joining a sharing session which features a number of experts, SMW is also open for brand owners who look to promote their products.
A number of prominent speakers will be featured in this prestigious event, such as Path Indonesia’s Country Manager William Tunggaldjaja, GrabTaxi’s CEO Anthony Tan, Kaskus Networks’ Co-Founder Andrew Darwis, Twitter Indonesia’s Business Head Rick Mulia, Buzzfeed’s VP International Scott Lamb, and many others.
