In its announcement, this online shopping festival is said to be the first and largest online shopping festival in Indonesia. For two weeks, there will be 300 vendors – booths and estimated 750 thousands visitor will attend this festival online.
Currently, Multiply is preparing this event by inviting online sellers to register and ‘set up’ booth at thisevent. Booth at the festival will be integrated with online store if the seller already has an online store in Multiply.com. Multiply will also provide a store template that can be selected by the participants.
Booth at the festival is free but on one condition: become a Mutiply trusted seller and register. To beable to use the Trusted Seller feature, there’s an annual charge. Later, Multiply will choose a store with the most interesting product and good sales to be invited to join in the festival.
There are some features that look interesting to look at at the festival; among others are the queue (invirtual form), auction, sampling and product demonstration. Some of these facilities usually found atoffline festival. It seems that Multiply wants to offer the same experience online. In addition, there areother features like sale and points and prizes. In addition to visiting the online store, as shoppers wait – virtual queue, visitors can play games, filling a survey or joining in seller’s social network.
The festival will be filled by a variety of products from various categories such as apparel, accessoriesfor men and women, gadget and computer, sporting equipment and automotive, baby and children equipment, film, music and books, home and electronic appliance, health and beauty, traveling to food. Product categories that are common in the Multiply’s Marketplace.
The number of booths is limited – 300 booths, registration is open until May 15, 2012. Sellers who signup will be selected and there will be incentive for sellers who join in the ShopFest.
The online trading providers continue to develop and introduce their services to consumers in Indonesia. There are those that place ads for their services on television while others make various programs to attract buyers and sellers. I was quite curious to see the execution of this festival andalso want to see how the impact, both for seller-buyer at Multiply’s service and for the online trading ecosystem as a whole.
