Pegadaian to Release "Gadai on Demand"

Acquiring "on-demand" as partner, to be launched on Pegadaian's 118th anniversary

Pegadaian to launch Gadai on Demand for those who want easier access to corporate services. This innovation is a follow-on commitment on welcoming technology era.

"It's to be launched in April 7th on our annniversary. Indeed, the collaboration with ojol (on demand transportation) is still undisclosed. However, it's still related to the two names (Grab or Gojek -red)," PT Pegadaian's (Persero) TI & Digital Director, Teguh Wahyono said to DailySocial.

The concept is to help consumers who want to take their jewelry for pledge, but have no time to go to Pegadaian. The company collaborates with on demand transportation app for pick up. Cash will be transferred to consumer's account.

In order to ensure the product safety to the nearest Pegadaian, they're using insurance. The verification process from customer to the driver, and the driver to Pegadaian is on development.

The other digital initiative is to be issued this year. Pegadaian Digital app specifically made for gold savings is being finalized for better feature, and all transaction to be completed without closing the app.

"We're decided to be "younger" in the 118th anniversary, and create more technology-based products to develop," Pegadaian's President Director said.

This year, Pegadaian has allocated a capital expenditure budget (capex) of Rp500 billion to increase profits through digital business channel. Last year, the company has marked Rp2.77 trillion profit, increased by 10.4% supported by their digital innovative products.

In addition, Pegadaian also partners with some tech companies. Those are Dana, Linkaja, and Tokopedia for gold transaction online "Tokopedia Emas".

Along with Dana, Pegadaian can now receive balance top up with minimum Rp50 thousand and withdraw cash. Also, Dana will be the payment platform that accommodates UMi funds from the government before distribution.

Dana app will soon available to receive mortgage payments at Pegadaian. The app will be integrated with Dana system.

"Pegadaian is available for all business partners and payments during win win, including LinkAja, Dana and other e-wallet. It's to improve services, particularly the non cash to facilitate our digital services," he added.
