Ruang Guru Introduces "Brain Academy" Group Course
Combining online and offline approach for education, also to provide self improvement material
The EdTech startup, Ruangguru introduces a Brain Academy course (bimbel). It is to combine technology with face-to-face learning to optimizing student activities.
Currently, Ruangguru is the leading EdTech startup in Indonesia. Started since 2014, they've acquired 300,000 private teachers with 13 million registered users.
Brain Academy is available for students at 4th grade to 12th grade. It's now available in 10 cities throughout Indonesia, in Medan, Pekanbaru, Palembang, Jakarta Barat, Jakarta Timur, Bogor, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, and Malang.
The concept is said to be different from the common group course. They're using technology to optimizing the learning process. Every student will have a diagnostic test in each session. The result should be the basic recommendation of which students can learn.
The registered students will get learning material and online tryout in digital format that is said to make the learning process more interactive, personal, and can be monitored accurately. In addition, Brain Academy also offers self-improvement material outside of school, such as critical thinking, communications, problem-solving, leadership, technology literacy, and many more, also providing convenience location with complete facilities, such as creative studio, cafeteria, and praying room.
"The beginning of Brain Academy goes along with our vision in Ruangguru, it's to create easy access to the high quality of education. We believe these things aren't meant to happen online but also offline. Aside from being a place to learn, Brain Academy also acts as information center, payment vehicle, and customer care for Ruangguru services," Ruangguru's CEO, Belva Devara said.
