Transjakarta to Be Integrated with Go-Jek through Go Busway
The plan of integrating Go-Jek and Transjakarta, which DKI Jakarta’s Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama always dreams of, will soon be materialized. PT Transjakarta’s Main Director Antonius Kosasih stated that there’ll be a new app called Go Busway which is installed in Go-Jek app which functions as a bus locator. The MoU upon the creation of this app will be ratified before the Eid al-Fitr.
As Detik reported, Kosasih explained that Go Busway is a specific app which will be inside Go-Jek. Through the app, Transjakarta customers can determine the location of the bus in each corridor as well as the ETA of each bus.
“Our passengers can track the location of the bus although they’re not in the shelter. This is one of our ways in serving Transjakarta customers and part of the Passenger Information System which we’re currently creating in Transjakarta, which in time must be followed by all operators,” Kosasih told MetroTV News.
He also added that in the future, the app will be equipped with a rating system so that users may assess the performance of the drivers as well as recognize them. Further, he also claimed that the app can assist passengers who want to continue their trip using Go-Jek.
As cited from CNN Indonesia, Kosasih explained, “This app (Go Busway) may also be used to connect people who want to order Go-Jek, which will wait them at the nearest overpass to their location.”
This creating-an-app partnership is Transjakarta’s second after previously being involved in the development of Jakarta Smartcity app. Kosasih stated that this is a mutually beneficial one since both PT. Transjakarta and the local government of DKI Jakarta don’t lose any of their money.
“The plan is that we ratify the MoU before Eid al-Fitr and the app will be available before the end of this year. This is a mutually beneficial partnership with Go-Jek. Both Transjakarta and the local government of DKI Jakarta don’t spend even a bit,” Kosasih claimed.
This Go Busway app is planned to be specially designed for iOS and Android. Kosasih was also optimistic that the app may facilitate people in getting on Busway.
