Wedding Startup Bridestory Strikes A Joint-Venture Deal With MediaCorp, Expands To Singapore
We just received news that Jakarta-based wedding startup Bridestory just strike a joint-venture deal with Singapore media behemoth, MediaCorp. The joint-venture will be called Bridestory.com.sg, although by the time this article is written it's still redirected to its original site, Bridestory.com.
Since its founding in early 2014, Bridestory has 10.000 wedding vendors joining their site, while just over 250k monthly visitors to their site. Founder and CEO, Kevin Mintaraga said in a statement, "MediaCorp's vast media reach can help Bridestory grasp Singapore wedding market and its surroundings".
This marks the second big partnership by MediaCorp with an Indonesian startup after the media giant acquired 52% of KapanLagi Network, one of Indonesia's largest online media company, just a few months ago. Bridestory, founded by Kevin Mintaraga and Emile Etienne, is backed by top-notch VC lineup from Beenos Plaza, East Ventures, Fenox Capital, Midplaza Group, Sovereign Capital, Rocket Internet Group, Skystar Capital and Lippo Digital Ventures.
Here's a video on Mintaraga sharing how he build a niche marketplace like Bridestory and how to attract funding from investors, on our DScussion video series.
