Apps Foundry Announced Strategic Partnership with MakeMac

Apps Foundry began using its investment funds obtained from Gobi Partners and MGI to conduct a strategic partnership with Apple product-specific blog, MakeMac. The investment value isn't reported but as mentioned by Penn-Olson, Apps Foundry will control a majority of ownership.

Kuswanto (MakeMac founder) will remain as advisor, while Sayz Lim is appointed as Chief Editor. MakeMac operational activity will be conducted by Apps Foundry. Nevertheless, Kuswanto has ensured that MakeMac policy direction will still be led by himself not by Apps Foundry. Kuswanto also confirmed that the acquisition was only associated with MakeMac and isn't concerning with other business.

Although Apps  Foundry has worked with Samsung to create an e-reader for Android, in their eyes iOS would be remaining a major platform. Until now aside from DailySocial and MakeMac, there has been several other tech-blog that got funding; including TeknoUp that got funding from East Ventures - where Willson Cuaca (Apps Foundry CEO) is also one of their partners. This is a good indication that in the eyes of investors, the online media technology remains as a business potential area.

Kuswanto in his press release said, "When MakeMac was established I wanted to make it as a learning center for Apple products users that are growing rapidly in Indonesia. MakeMac cooperation with Apps Foundry will make MakeMac growing faster and reaching more Apple users."

MakeMac itself has been around for four years and it has been focusing on the news about Apple products such as Mac families and the series of iOS gadgets. MakeMac has more than 33 thousand followers on Twitter that are actively doing "questions and answers" about the popular Apple products in Indonesia.

With a presence of MakeMac in the ranks of Apps Foundry family, it's natural that I was wondering about the possibility of MakeMac being an application or a digital magazine at iOS platform. It's something that's becoming Apps Foundry skill with their SCOOP. Please check this link for the full press release.
