BakoelTiket.com, Online Ticketing Service
Another startup comes from Jogjakarta called BakoelTiket.com. The name is quite unique, drawn from Javanese Language word meaning seller (or bakul, transformed into old spelling "bakoel"). BakoelTiket if interpreted in Indonesian is the ticket seller. BakoelTiket is an online flight ticketing service that may be different from other online ticketing services in general.
According to their email, Teddie Dian Patria - founder of BakoelTiket.com - claims that this is the first site in Indonesia which combines several airlines to compare and and is able to sell airline tickets realtime 24 hours without anyone behind the screen. BakoelTiket.com online ticketing service is currently able to serve several airlines reservation only, such as LionAir, Batavia Air, Merpati Air, and Garuda Indonesia. Other airlines and train tickets are still in early development stages.
When I tried to open BakoelTiket.com, I went straight to the page "Home" and what crossed to mind was that is a blog, not an online ticketing service. Apparently BakoelTiket.com is using WordPress. After that I headed to "Tiket Pesawat Murah", visitors to this page would have thought that the content will be a list of cheap airline ticket prices, however it turned out to be an introduction to the startup, which in other websites will be placed in "About" page or some sort.
Still on "Tiket Pesawat Murah" (cheap airline ticket price) page, at the third option there's a sentence saying, "kemudian pilih menu register" (then choose registration menu) and at the fourth option there's another sentence saying "form registrasi bakoeltiket" (bakoeltiket registration form) but instead of directed to registration form, I was directed to Home page. Confusing.
On the page "Cari Tiket Murah", we will be treated to a login form and registration form to become a member. A few days ago I tried to register. I filled the form correctly and I clicked the register button, but I did not get any confirmation on email that I use to register. I haven't got the password and cannot log in to use this service.
In the lower right corner, there is a live chat with BakoelTiket.com Customer Service, we can use our live chat service but they only serve on working hours only. After that I confirmed to the CS who was online at the moment that I've registered but did not get a confirmation email to obtain a password in order to login and use BakoelTiket 's service. Thankfully the Customer Service responded quickly.
Actually BakoelTiket.com is one startup that solves a problem in the plane ticket reservation. However, the UX and UI would be difficult to understand for visitors. As a common visitor, I was very confused when using BakoelTiket.com's service. This kind of service should be user friendly and easy to use.
