Blibli and Belimob to Launch Car Trade-In

Aims to facilitate customers in trading their used car into a new one, Blibli launches Tukar Tambah Mobil (trade-in). Partners with Belimob, a business unit of Mobill88 [Astra's subsidiary in used car dealer], this feature is to be one-stop shopping experience for Blibli customers.

"Trade-in service is our effort to introduce one-stop shopping experience for customers looking for a car in Blibli. As a first step, we partnered with Mobil88, a leading and reliable company engaged in the used car dealer," Lay Ridwan Gautama, Blibli's Senior Vice President of Trade Partnership, said.

The rise of online platforms for automotive sales is a reason why Belimob wants to partner with Blibli. Previously, Belimob is a supplier for used cars in mobil88. It is now available as the used car dealer for personal, on condition of all brands and types must be purchased.

"We've been targeting e-commerce market and through this partnership, we're ready to give the best service includes easy purchase for customers of Blibli.com," Halomoan Fischer Lumbantoruan, President Director of Mobil88, said.

Regarding transparent transactions

This service is an expansion of the existing car dealer facility in Blibli since 2016. It will facilitate customers in selling used car for a new car in Blibli. The used cars will later be bought by Belimob.

"Blibli's automotive sales, cars in particular, has currently partnered with more than 15 flagship cars and it [cars in various brands and types] will soon to be available for trade-in," he said.

Customers who want to sell used cars and buy a new one through Blibli can visit a certain site. After all the requirements fulfilled, customers will be offered the best price. Once verified, the e-voucher will be sent within 4 days. Customers can use it [cost reduction] to buy the new car.

Some startups have targeted the same market. They are BeliMobilGue and Carsome. The difference is Belimob specified its fund for a new car purchase, while the other two are offering cash.
