Bukalapak Officially Launches BukaGlobal
The service available for users from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwanm and Brunei Darussalam
Bukalapak is finally launch BukaGlobal, a service/feature that allows overseas buyers making transaction or purchasing items from Bukalapak. This is an effort from the company to expand business to global. The first five countries they target are Singapore, Malaysia, Hongkong, Taiwan, and Brunei Darussalam.
"BukaGlobal can be useful for SMEs to get opportunity in global market. This innovation is part of Bukalapak's solution to the challenges faced by SMEs, particularly in getting access of the current market and reliable infrastructure," Fajrin Rasyid as Bukalapak's President said.
Launched in Singapore on Monday (5/20), the latest service is not only have access to global market by connecting sellers with overseas buyers, but also develop logistics ecosystem by having partnership with those capable of fast and high-quality shipment. It's expected to be impactful to the rise of SME and Indonesia's digital economic growth.
"The Indonesian government is very supportive to Bukalapak's latest initiative in line with their program to provide facilities to increase export potential for SMEs, such as vocational program, a complete internet infrastructure development, and business mentoring in synergy. With the collaboration between e-commerce and traditional business, SME industry should be improved, therefore, Indonesia can lead the digital economy growth in Southeast Asia," Minister of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo) Rudiantara said at the launching.
BukaGlobal feature will be available for five selected countries in May 20th 2019. It's still possible for country expansion. Currently, the latest innovation provides delivery service from 0.5 kg with variant rate and time (estimated for 6-11 day) based on the destination.
