There is an interesting thing from Aulia’s Tweet reported that eBay will open their office in Jakarta some days ago. It is the reply from Kevin Mintaraga who will release a site called Updaterus.com.

It is important to know that Kevin Mintaraga is one of the mentors for Project Eden and East Ventures Alpha that has been discussed by DailySocial, also the partner in Jardintech Capital. This site has not released yet. When we open the Updaterus.com, the first preface is the counting down to the launching date. Updaterus.com be will launched and can be accessed on Monday, 26th of September 2011.

According to the Updaterus.com description on their Facebook Page“Updaterus is an interesting way, fun, and nice for you who have time, a nice place for girls to upload the best photo, a place to make boys admiring beautiful girls every minutes”. Therefore, Updaterus.com is the media for girls to show their best photos.

One interesting thing is Kevin’s name behind the Updaterus.com, what makes him develop Updaterus.com? “The idea of Updaterus.com website captures the social media phenomena in Indonesia. Girls’ behavior in Indonesia on social media shows that they like to update their profile and their new photos. On the other hand, the men on social media like to explore beautiful friend through his friends’ profile, admiring their photos and checking out if there’s any mutual friend. With this insight, we create a new concept that we believe can be the answer for this need”, explained Kevin to DailySocial.

They choose Updaterus.com as their brand because this name is catchy and easy to remember. This name consists of two words “update and terus (continuously)” (in Indonesian version) and “update are us” (English version). Both have the same meaning that is a website to visit continuously which make people want to go back again and again. Kevin explained that although it is a new startup, Updaterus has revenue from advertising before launching.

Kevin also explained that later “On Updaterus we will see time and beauties profile showed on social network account like Facebook and Twitter. Audience is also able to interact by giving “cute” (as like function on Facebook) to their favorite beauties. The most voted beauties, the one who has the most “cute”, will get interesting presents such as interesting voucher MAP, Gucci bag and Chanel bag in every week, month, and year. Besides cute button, users also can follow their favorite beauties (so every user will be notified anytime their beauties show in Updaterus)”.
