Did Traveloka Get Acquired by CT Corp? It’s A Big No

We received a tip yesterday (12/4) stating that Traveloka might have been acquired by Chairul Tanjung through his CT Corp. This was strengthened by the fact that both CT Corp and Traveloka’s Wikipedia page indicate CT Corp as the rightful owner of Traveloka, though there wasn’t any official citation being attached already.

If the rumour is valid, then it would be CT Corp’s second acquisition in internet industry after previously acquiring Detik.com back in 2011.

CT Corp consists of three sub-holding companies: Mega Corp, Trans Corp, and CT Global Resources which cover finance, media, retail, lifestyle, entertainment, and natural resources services. While Traveloka was established in 2012 by Ferry Unardi, Derianto Kusuma and Albert and supported by East Ventures and Samwer Brothers’ Global Founders Fund.

We have attempted upon confirming about the news to Traveloka regarding this but have yet got any confirmation in return. We’ll update this artcle once a confirmation has been given.

UPDATE: Traveloka’s Co-Founder Ferry Unardi has confirmed that the rumour wasn’t valid, indicating that someone might have posted false data on Wikipedia.
