eEvent closes $250k pre-seed funding from TechColumbus

We just learned that 2010 SparxUp winner company eEvent just secured a pre-seed round of funding from TechColumbus. They cleared a $250k fresh capital to further expand their company and let all founders to focus on developing the market in the middle of a stiff competition between big online event platforms available. eEvent was actually a spin-off from eSolutech, an IT consultant firm founded by Andi Sie who now stepped down and focuses on eEvent's operations.

In the middle of 2011, we also broke the news about eEvent and their strategic partnership with tech incubator Ideosource for business mentorship and strengthen eEvent's foundation as a company. Although eEvent is based in Columbus, Ohio but the company is mostly lead by Indonesians before finally setup a presence in Jakarta last year. eEvent is also the one and only Indonesian tech startup to pitch at Jason Calacanis' Launch Conference early 2011.

The partnership between eEvent and TechColumbus started way back in 2009 when TechColumbus helped eEvent with their first product iteration as well as giving mentorship and business coaches before TechColumbus invite eEvent to pitch in front of the investment committee and successfully close the deal.

We also received information that this pre-seed round is done via convertible debt and open the possibility to attract follow-on funding from venture capital firms and angel investors.
