Elasitas: GameMachi is social mobile game platform
Related to this article on GameMachi who received the honor to be invited by Research in Motion (RIM) to Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 in Barcelona, Spain, we received further explanation from Calvin Kizana, CEO of Elasitas.
According to him, GameMachi is not just a game, it as a social mobile game platform, where there are plenty of games running on it. This, answer our confusion of why there are so many things appear in GameMachi’s image preview. Those various games was announced on BlackBerry Developer Conference Asia in Bali the other day and on Mobile World Congress recently.
On GameMachi, run a number of games and application, not on only text based mentioned previously but also WAP connectivity based and client/application based with enchanting and interactive graphic. In WAP based game series developed on GameMachi there are football manager Barclays Premier League (BPL), Virtual DJ Alice Norin, The ChangCuters, HangMachi (some sort of HangMan), and Qute (some sort of Tamagochi). While those with graphic based are MiMo Machi and Pirate Machi. As for text based (with chat feature) there are Dice, Low Card, Rock Paper Scissors, Head or Tail, and Russian Roulette.
Calvin added that text based in-chat system games were put under spotlight on MWC 2011 for their uniqueness in applying low bandwidth, addictive, chatting-based (Indonesian loves to chat), and easy to play (especially for killing time) games. These kind of games are viral and playable anytime anywhere with direct integration with BlackBerry Messenger (BBM).
Like other social games, GameMachi also implement virtual money and virtual item as its main attractions. Virtual money can be integrated to various payment gateway such as premium sms, PayPal, credit card, and klikBCA (Internet Banking). It’s also supported by game voucher provider such as IndoMog.
AFAIK, there hasn’t any game concept, especially social based and integrated with BBM Social Platform, developed by Indonesian developers in BlackBerry platform and gain an international acknowledgment. It would be a great nation’s pride, don’t you think? Coming up later, our review on experiencing the game’s live demo.
