Facebook Is Seeking New Head of Indonesia

Facebook Indonesia’s Head Anand Tilak made an announcement stating that he’ll soon end his reign and take another responsibility at Facebook. He also said that the focus of Facebook Indonesia for this year would be educating advertisers about how to effectively turn Facebook into an advertising media.

Regarding a question by DailySocial, Tilak responded by saying that he’s always been loyal to the company he works for, thus he decided to stay at Facebook and take another role, though he didn’t specify which position he’ll be posted on, most likely within Facebook APAC. He’s been Facebook Indonesia’s Head ever since the company was firstly established.

Within the job vacancy Facebook posted in the middle of last March, the company is currently seeking for someone who has at least 12 years of experience in marketing segment, media sales, and/or advertising as well as excels in both English and Bahasa, indicating that Facebook Indonesia tends to pick another Indonesian to be the next company’s head.

Tilak also emphasized that Facebook’s focus in Indonesia would be to assist advertisers, brands, and agencies to make use of Facebook as an effective media platform by displaying some of success stories which are based on the measurement of ad recall and consumers’ desire to purchase.

He said, “During this past year, we’ve partnered with a number of brands and partners in Indonesia to help them reaching the real business results as well as better measurement through creative stories on covering Indonesian consumers.”

As per March 2015, Facebook is claimed to have 72 million active users in Indonesia and Tilak praised Indonesians as trend setters, who have the highest activeness on using their smartphone and internet as well as interacting in social media, compared to other more developed countries like Japan, South Korea, and Australia.
