Finalists of Chip-Nokia Mobile Game Developer War

Chip-Nokia Mobile Game Developer War is entering final stage and will be held on June 4, 2011 in Jakarta. The event will present local game developers and is supported by Agate Studio, DigiGames, HotGame and DailySocial.

After 2 qualification rounds, now they have all the finalists they need. Previously committee provided opportunity for 3 additional finalists to complete the 6 finalists from 2 Mobile Game Developer War held in Bandung and Jogja.

The 3 finalists will compete against each other with other 6 finalists for a total of Rp 60 million Grand Prizes, by presenting their game application with live coding if they pass stage one.

Below are the names of the finalists, their studio and their game app:

  1. Team Dramit – School Escape
  2. Team Hantu Digital – Hantu Digital (previously called DigiBomb)
  3. Team Dongskar Pedongi – Bhineka Tunggal Ika (previously called Defender Windvale)
  4. Team OMG – Arjuna Sang Pemanah
  5. Team Enlight Games Studio – Waroeng Ekspress
  6. Team Sate – Too Much Satay
  7. Team Anonim – Malin Kundang
  8. Team Omah Games – Nakula Sadewa (One of finalists for Mobile Game Developer War in Jogja)
  9. Team Aksanesia – Aksara

These 9 finalists will present their gaming application in front of the judges. Out of 9 finalists will be chosen 3 grand finalists and they will conduct live coding to fix and develop their game application after getting input from judges. Afterward they will be back explaining and demonstrating what they’ve fixed and developed during live coding. The judges will then determine the first, second, and third winner.

The event will be held at fX Mall, Jl. Jend. Sudirman, Pintu Satu Senayan, Jakarta. Thursday, June 4, 2011, starting 10.00 – 17.00 WIB. The event is free of charge and visitors can get merchandise from CHIP Magazine.

Visitors will not only find interesting games on from finalists but CHIP and Nokia will also present two guest stars, Sandra Dewi and Henry Foundation of Goodnight Electric, the latter one will present live music. Visitors can also visit finalists’ booths where they display their game apps.

I attended two Mobile Game Developer Wars previously in Bandung and Jogja, and I can’t wait to attend the final event, to see live coding process, talk directly to the developers who come from various backgrounds (college students, high school students, public) and feel the “war” atmosphere completes with finalists’ booths to see what their games are about. I hope the booths will be more completed than the previous Game Developer Wars, at least it should take Jogja as example, so that visitors can try available games and communicate with the developers.

You can see game demo video from the finalists here, and complete information here.
