Five Most-Awaited Games of 2017

For consoles and computers

As the year 2016 is coming to an end, DailySocial has compiled a list of upcoming games in 2017 that are worth waiting for.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Release date: Fall 2017

Consoles: Playstation 4, Xbox One

Rockstar Games are so good in what they do that they do not need to announce their product at prominent gaming events to create hype and steal gamers' attention. Despite almost nothing can be gained from the latest trailer of this Wild West-themed open world sequel, we found ourselves enthusiastically looking forward to it anyway.

Prey

Release date: Q1/Q2 2017

Consoles: PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One

Originally created as a sequel to the 2006's Prey by Human Head Studios, this game will finally return as a reboot. From its trailer, we can see that it resembles a combination between System Shock ans Dead Space instead of puzzle-style shooter game as in the original one.

Resident Evil 7

Release date: Jan. 24

Consoles: PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One

This eleventh game from Capcom's horror survival series is said to be the first Resident Evil game to feature a first-person perspective. Set four years after Resident Evil 6 ended, it will still bring a battle system, but the developers reportedly have made it more thrilling and challenging.

Mass Effect: Andromeda

Release date: Q1 2017

Consoles: PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One

This game has becomes the center of attention due to its "open world" premise and BioWare's unique character presentation. Said to be the game with the biggest ever content created by the developer, its gameplay will combine both traditional role-playing aspects and exploration.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands

Release date: March 7

Consoles: PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One

The "open world" formula seems to be trending among prominent developers. As an effort to refresh its franchise, Ubisoft has decided to leave futuristic themes behind and return to the "present" by presenting gamers with varied battle arenas like mountains, forests and savannahs. (fmn/kes)
