The last time, DailySocial had told you about FodBoo, a social networking-to-be for education which until now seems to have no progress, now, there’s another educational social networking announced tothe public.
In between the e-Initiatives Indonesia (eII) Forum held in Bandung, Prof. Suhono Harso Supangkat (Chairman of the ITB Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development) disclosed theexistence of a social media called GoeSmart. GoeSmart, which looks is similar to Facebook, is intended for academic community in Indonesia. GoeSmart is expected to be a place for students, teachers and parents to interact, sharing knowledge and learning.
Reported by AntaraNews, GoeSmart was developed by eII Forum but inside the GoeSmart’s site, it’swritten that the copyright of the site goes to PT Indismart Kreatif Idea. When we checked on Indismart’s site, in some articles about GoeSmart, it was never mentioned that eII Forum being involved in thecreation of GoeSmart. The email we sent to Indismart’s contact has also not yet been replied until this article is written.
In addition to education, Suhono hopes that the presence of GoeSmart is also able to change the mentality of Indonesian people from consumptive society into productive society. Indonesia is no longer a niche market for social network from abroad but can create and be productive as well. Indonesia is expected to be able to gain profit from the rapidly growing virtual world.
Although still under development, GoeSmart currently has about 4.500 registered accounts from West Java, Central Java and East Java. To encourage teachers to share their knowledge on this social network, Suhono revealed, GoeSmart is trying to cooperate with Ministry of Education and Culture as well as businessmen as sponsors. This is done so active and excel teachers at GoeSmart can get incentive in the form of money or credit for their certifications.
