Google Currently In Talks With Local Labels, Plans To Bring Google Music To Indonesia Next Year

We just received rumor that Google is currently talking with some of Indonesia's biggest music label in order to bring their digital music service, Google Music, into the market. Some of our sources also confirms the meeting with Google representative talking about the possibility to bring the service some time as early as the start of next year.

Although left behind by its biggest competitor, Apple's iTunes who starts being active in the market late last year, Google is planning to bring the service to Indonesia so users can now stream and buy music through the Play Store. Indonesia is definitely a hot market for music especially in mobile devices supported by the high number of ringback tone downloads and even illegal music downloads.

Right now if you go to Google Music's page, users from Indonesia will prompted with a "unsupported country" message restriction. As soon as the partnership with the labels can go on, users can download the music app from Play Store and play your music in sync with other devices you have without having to store the music files in each of your devices. You can even make your songs offline so you can still listen to it when you're not connected to the internet.

Similar services such as Spotify, Deezer, Nokia Music and iTunes has been pretty successful exploiting the music market of Indonesia together with some local players such as Ohdio and EasyTune.in. But all in all, it's a tough market to penetrate yet it's not impossible. As one of the market with a growing number of musicians, artists has been struggling to go against music piracy and monetise from digital music. All of these services should crack those first.
