Indosat Completed StarOne Customers’ Migration and to Accelerate 4G/LTE Presentation in Indonesia
Indosat has just finished migrating their customers of StarOne, whose services were shut by the end of last June. This Ooredoo-dominated service claimed that it will focus to accelerate the procurement of 4G LTE all over Indonesia. This is done by modernizing the network to present high quality internet access.
The StarOne service was shutdown according to the legislation of the Minister of Communication and Information Number 30 year 2014 about the management of 800 MHz radio frequency band for the sake of cellular moving network management on September 10, 2015 and the Minister’s Legislation Number 799 year 2014 about the determination of the use of 800 MHz radio frequency to PT Indosat Tbk on September 12, 2014. The process was finally completed on June 30, 2015.
In its release, Indosat also explained that the team had just finished the migration process. Indosat will compensate the customers with GSM cards, call forwarding facility, and deposit on Indosat Dompetku, with the amount being based on the average of StarOne services consumption in three months. The deposit will be able to be cashed out at the nearest Galeri Indosat or being spent on products offered by Indosat’s partnering merchants.
