Krazymarket Pivots Into Monetizable Pinterest-like E-Commerce Model

Krazymarket has been pivoting a few times since its first launched back in 2009. It was launched as a general e-commerce site, that was before the big players came in, and they adapt. And again. And again.

Not so long after the e-commerce market heat up, Krazymarket, then an e-commerce site with smartphones dominating its site,  shifted its focus into a collectible-specific e-commerce site. Toys, antiques, collectibles, arts & crafts, basically things you wouldn't find on the generic e-commerce sites.

Krazymarket stayed away from the usual gadgets, electronics, fashion things that dominated the e-commerce site and instead went with items wanted by fanatics, enthusiasts and passionate customers.  They also spent quite some time with hobbyist communities in Indonesia, the site's rep was growing good.

Or so we thought.

Apparently, Krazymarket needed something even more radical for its e-commerce site. They needed to find a new model in order to boost transactions and display products that their competitors won't have. So, a few weeks ago Krazymarket decided to go another way and came up with yet another new concept for their e-commerce model.

When you visit the new site, it's going to be very obvious that the new design reminds you a lot of Pinterest. Big image boxes, clean, minimal that rather "classic" look, it's very comfortable. The new site promises visual aid for people to be interested in stuff they sell, and they sell fast, it's a flash deal pinterest-like e-commerce model. A mouthful? Yep, indeed.

Basically, the site is now filled with beautiful pictures of items from electronics, gadgets, accessories, automotive, fashion, etc but not the kind of things you would find elsewhere. This has been always the key strength of Krazymarket, the ability to find things no one else is selling. You can click on these beautiful images, but unlike The Fancy, everything is for sale!

Every beautiful item displayed on the site is for sale, some of them are sold out, some of them are still selling until the next few days. Even if they aren't selling out as easy, some of these really cool stuff would trigger social sharing from its users. This is the basic idea of Pinterest and The Fancy, showing beautiful items that you would voluntarily share to your social group and if the demand is enough, the item could be for sale.

Personally, I think Krazymarket is probably the most innovative e-commerce company, although from another point-of-view they would be seen as immature and still finding its true character. I think "unique" is a strong character for Krazymarket, it's their strength to get things other e-commerce companies can't put for sale. And the pinterest-model is the next evolution for Krazymarket.
