Lamudi Indonesia Plans to Reach Ten New Cities in 2015
Lamudi online property portal has just received 16 mill Euro (around 230 mill Rupiah)from Asia Pacific Internet Group (Apacig), Holtzbrinck Ventures, and Tengelmann Ventures. The money has been planned to go to an operational expansion in their significant markets, including Indonesia.
Ever since entering Indonesia in February last year, Lamudi Indonesia has experienced a quite positive growth. the startup claimed that in a year, it has gathered more than 180.000 property listings from more than 5.000 property agents in their database. Moreover, Lamudi Indonesia has already had four branches in Indonesia, which are located in Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, and Bandung with more than 50 employees so far.
Lamudi’s Global Co-Founder and Managing Director Kian Moini claimed, “Since Lamudi was born, we aim to create the biggest real estate platform in developing countries. In less than two years, we’ve successfully generated a comprehensive online database for property seekers.”
Moini further explained that Lamudi will keep raising the nominal of investment they receive, as the team is currently on the track of giving more convenience to investors. This is, of course, done to captivate even more investors, and more investors means much more money to come.
Karan Khetan, Lamudi Indonesia’s Managing Director, added, “This funding would be big, since as Kian stated, lamudi is currently growing. We’d like to use the money to expand our reach, like expanding to more cities for instance. We want to solidify Lamudi’s position in Indonesia and, along with the business growth, develop our team.”
Lamudi also plans to keep focusing on improving the quality of its product. “We will use the funding to improve the quality of our products, especially for desktop and mobile, while keeping bettering up Lamudi’s position,” Moini said.
Lamudi Indonesia has now provided “Dial for home” which helps property seekers who have limited internet access. Through this service, they may easily get connected to the real estate agents via Lamudi Indonesia’s hotline which, unfortunately, has yet gone “live” at the moment. Last year, Lamudi perfected its services by refreshing their interface and adding more features on its website.
Moini explained, “In 2015, Lamudi looks to expand its market. By the end of this year, Lamudi Indonesia wants to go ‘head to head’ with older online property players in term of listing and traffic. In addition, we also intends to reach at least 10 (new) cities in Indonesia.”
