Launching Soon: Proyek.in, a Stasion Malang Community Member Startup Showcase

Last week,the Facebook Group of Stasion Malang (a community of startups in Malang) was busy with a post from Revandi M (one of the stasion initiators) on the release of a media startup showcase for Stasion community special members :Proyek.in. From the information on this site, Proyek.in is a startup driver media showcase in Malang and it will be managed by the community. This is expected to help on the marketing, promotion, getting a team member or even funding side.

To get more information about Proyek.in, we had the opportunity to interview Revandi M as Stasion community initiator and a man behind Proyek.in. Here's our brief interview with Revandi:

DS: Can you explain in detail what is Proyek.in?

The basic idea of ​​this is a showcase for Stasion Malang member startups which may not be much different from Startuplokal or www.sortfolio.com showcase. Not every startup that was developed by Stasion members can be displayed here, because we are prioritizing the only startups that were developed by official members (with a membership card). For the management, this Proyek.in will be managed by community and not individual.

DS: What was behind the establishment of Proyek.in?

From activities done by Stasion from the beginning until today, we began to see the growth of startups in Malang which is quite good, especially at the Stasion community itself. From here we begin to feel the need to create a special media that provides an opportunity for Stasion members to present their developed startups.

On the other hand, we are also managing the Stasion membership. So in the future there will be two types of membership: regular membership and official membership (with membership card and eligible to use the facilities provided by the station; such as Proyek.in). For serious members who want to contribute in Stasion community, they can register as an official member but if they don't want to it's not a problem. In becoming an official member, there are also certain conditions such as having to follow Stasion events for a minimum number times. This we haven't made final decision on yet, so please wait and see our press release.

DS: What is the purpose of establishing Proyek.in?

For Members (Startup) 1.  A showcase media for startups that they develop 2. A media promotion / marketing 3.  A medium for mutual collaboration between members in the startup development 4. A means to get the funding, especially investment

For Investors: 1. Easier for investors to view / monitor the startup development startup in Malang 2. Easier for investors to get the "golden-seed" startup from Malang

For Community Stations: 1. One community media campaign to achieve the Stasion vision and mission 2. A benefit-proof of the station community existence 3. A means to trigger the growth of startup in Malang significantly 4. A means to encourage investors to see the business potential that can be developed in the city of Malang

DS: When exactly Proyek.in would be launched?

We haven't decided when Proyek.in would be launched. Obviously now is in a period of development. The original plan is in March but it can also be earlier or delayed.

DS: After the project being launched what is the future plan of Proyek.in?

We only focus on the early development showcase, then Proyek.in will be developed into media marketing / promotion, collaboration team and get funding from investors for startups that developed by Stasion members.

The growth of Stasion community is very rapid from the beginning up to now and it is quite impressive. It is inevitable that many new startup emerged from Malang is because of the Stasion community. Various startups from this city also have won various competitions such as SparxUp 2011, INAICTA 2011, Indigo Fellowship 2011, and so on.

And one that attracts the attention is the emergence of  their HackerSpace called HackerStasion which received support from UB INBIS . So what is the next surprise from Stasion after Proyek.in? Let's wait together.
