LivingSocial Indonesia Re-Uses Ensogo’s Domain

In line with its decision of selling ex-Ensogo LivingSocial’s property in Southeast Asia to iBuy Group last April, LivingSocial Indonesia is now using Ensogo’s entity as its domain address. However, unlike its ‘siblings’ in Thailand and the Philippines which use the name of Ensogo straight away, the startup decides to keep using the LivingSocial brand in Indonesia. FYI, before Ensogo was acquired by LivingSocial, the platform went by the name of DealKeren.

As Tech In Asia observed, each time visitors try to access the old domain of LivingSocial Indonesia, they will get re-directed to the Indonesian version of Ensogo website. The switch also happens to its Twitter account, which is turned into @Ensogo_ID. In regard to the decision of keeping the name, we have yet uncovered the exact percentage of shares that the old owner of Ensogo Holdings still hold. Well, he now focuses more on developing aCommerce, an e-commerce enabler, after all.

Three years ago, LivingSocial started expanding its business in Southeast Asia as an attempt to directly challenge the well-established Groupon by acquiring the Ensogo Holdings which operated in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. In Indonesia, LivingSocial’s entity was once named DealKeren. The platform was one of the most popular daily deals websites with the record of selling thousands of coupons for a single promotion.

It seems that iBuy Group will try to use Ensogo brand to cover its daily deals services in Asia. In fact, each time we try accessing the LivingSocial Thailand’s website, we will be shown all iBuy’s daily deals, including the ones available in Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
