Macports is Now Mirrored in Indonesia

It is good news for Macports users and developers in Indonesia. Macports distribution files now has mirror in Indonesia. It is at PPTIK UGM Yogyakarta. The address of this Macports mirror will be added officially to macports upstream after updated. Kindly update it by write command “sudo port selfupdate” on the terminal. Make sure that Macports has been installed by reading download and installation manual.
Macports, previously called as DarwinPorts, is a software distribution system which make easier installment of Free/Open Source software for Mac OSX platform that similar to apt-get in Debian/Ubuntu or ports in FreeBSD. This open source program will be downloaded and compiled based on the computer architecture owned by users. Macports is supported by Apple Inc and its developers’ community. Moreover, there is developer documentation, its article, and tutorial.
This mirroring is started by mirroring done by PPTIK UGM staff, Yudha Nugrahadi, then I did patch to macports that is submitted to Trac . Then it is followed up by Macports maintainer. Next, it is added as mirror distifiles.
Hopefully, this Macports localization helps Mac OS X developers and users in Indonesia.
