MindTalk Challenges Developers to Build Local Apps

MindTalk.com, a local social media tool (more adept to be called social channel), is holding a competition called MindTalk Apps Day 2012. The competition challenges local developers, individual or group (3 people max), to build applications using MindTalk’s platform for 24 hours nonstop (hackathon). MindTalk Apps Day 2012 will be held in two cities, Yogyakarta and Malang.

In Yogyakarta, the event will be held on April 5 – 6, 2012 which will take place at University Club, Gajah Mada University – Jl. Pancasila no. 2, Bulaksumur, and in Malang on April 14 – 15, 2012 at Hotel Pelangi – Jl. Merdeka Selatan no, 3. At both venues, the event will be held from 13.30 WIB (first day) until 13.30 WIB (last day). As we have mentioned above, the event will be held for 24 hours nonstop just like usual hackathons.

Registration for MindTalk Apss Day 2012 in Yogyakarta was opened on March 21, 2012 – April 2, 2012, while registration for Malang is still open until April 9, 2012.

Participants are challenged to develop apps for desktop, web as well as mobile on MindTalk’s platform using an API that already been made available on developer.mindtalk.com. It seems that there is no specific theme applied on the competition. Participants are free to make cool and awesome applications on one condition, that it has to be built on MindTalk’s platform.

Prize for MindTalk Apps Day 2012 winner is quite tempting; the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9” while the winner that built Blibli.com’s application on MindTalk’s platform will get Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and Blackberry Belagio 9790. MindTalk Apps Day 2012 is sponsored by Microsoft, Blibli.com and Samsung and supported by DailySocial, Bancakan 2.0 and Stasion.
