Mira Lesmana’s Project Became the Second Project Realized at Wujudkan

Aulia, through a post on Dailylicious sometime ago, asked about the formula of crowdfunding project that could be successful in Indonesia. I have two clues for that: social project and a project that can make someone looks cool to be involved in the project.

Last evening, Mira Lesmana’s Atambua 39^o Celcius project managed to break funding target through Wujudkan.com. Until this article was written, on the last day of fund raising, the project managed to raise IDR311.837.000 or around 104% of the IDR300.000.000 target. When I checked on the project yesterday morning, the project still lacked IDR8.000.000 to meet the target. A couple hours after that, the project nailed it.

This project becomes the second project that managed to meet funding target on Wujudkan. Prior, the first project that met its target is the Papan untuk Semua: Atap untuk Rumah Uay – Board for All: A Roof for Uay’s House project. This project gained 192% or around IDR4.780.000 from the intended IDR2.500.000. The project is a social prokect by the architect Yu Sing to make a house for ojek rider named Uay and his family.

Of the two project examples, we may take two criteria of corwdfunding project that can be successful here. The first is social project. In the project of Uay’s house, I’m sure there are many Indonesians who want to help without any reward, solely for social reason. While project like Mira Lesmana’s, idealist project from Mira Lesmana and Riri Reza made people feel cool to help in realizing the Atambua 39o Celcius movie project.

Linimas(s)a 2

Other than the crowdfunding project like BursaIde, Wujudkan, Patungan.net or independently run (not going through certain service) like DemiUcok movie, currently there’s a crowdfunding project in Indonesia which fulfill both criteria, that is the Linimas(s)a 2 movie project by Internet Sehat team. Different from the two projects mentioned above, Linimas(s)a 2 does not included in any crowdfunding service, Internet Sehat team does its own fund raising.

This Linimas(s)a 2 project has all the criteria of the projects that are successful in th crowdfunding system. This project is a social project, as well as making people look cool to be involved in the project. The Linimas(s)a 2 documentary movie will be distributed without profit means. And the idea of the project brought by Internet Sehat team will draw people, especially internet geek, to join in the funding for Linimas(s)a 2 project.

Will the crowdfunding for Linimas(s)a 2 be successful? Unfortunately, Internet Sehat team does not update the total fund collected on daily basis. Today, the recorded data in the project’s website is still the data of the project when it was initiated. We need to wait three more weeks, when the fund raising will be done, to see whether the project meets its funding or not.
