Focus on domestic route in the early phase
Mister Aladin introduces flight booking feature. They're now entering the OTA crowds with this feature. Other that specific OTA services, some marketplace, like Tokopedia and JD.id, also provide this feature.
According to Mister Aladin's internal data, the soft launching of Mister Aladin's flight booking feature has an impact on the hotel booking by 63% in the first quarter of 2018. Of the total booking, domestic travel is still a priority.
"We currently have more than 100,000 hotel inventories and targeting 200% increase by the end of 2018. To fulfill consumer's demand and accommodate booking trend for the domestic route in Lebaran, we decided to launch flight booking feature focusing on domestic routes," Veranika Gunawan, CEO of Mister Aladin, explained.
The flight booking feature should be Mister Aladin's innovation to keep on track with the competitors. In addition, they have to be consistent in creating innovation and features for user's demand.
In the same occasion, Mister Aladin also introduces Personal Travel Assistant feature in the app. It is expected to give a personal touch in its services. It also allows consumers to experience personal assistant service managed by the experts.
"We've seen a themed travel trend, such as backpacker, foodie, road trip, traveling for a marathon, and many others in the current travel class. As the best travel companions, it's easy for us to create those stuff through Personal Travel Assistant," Nitha Sudewo, COO of Mister Aladin, said.
Personal Travel Assistant feature and capability for personalized service by Mister Aladin are claimed to be the unique feature to stay competitive among other OTAs.
"I believe the uniqueness will be a leading feature of Mister Aladin in Indonesia's market," she explained.
