MOL Partners With Alfa Retail Group To Maximise Voucher Distribution

We recently learned that Malaysia-based online payment company MOL just ink a significant partnership with PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya, which is the holding company behind giant convenient store franchise chain Alfamart and Alfamidi. This partnership will enable MOL to distribute its vouchers to all Alfamart, Alfamidi, Alfa Express and Lawson stores around the country which includes more than 7000 stores as per November last year.

As quoted from tech blog Teknojurnal, this partnership is based on the fast-growing number of online games in Indonesia for the past 10 years, making game voucher a lucrative business in the country. MOL Indonesia representative also explained that the partnership is done to make it easier for consumer to buy physical game vouchers.

The vouchers values ranging from IDR 11.000 to IDR 220.000 for MOL vouchers that can be used to play hundreds of games from numerous platforms all over the world. Late last year, DailySocial talked to Patrick Setiawan who was appointed as MOL's Country Manager for its Indonesian operations.

As we all know, the dying social networking site Friendster got acquired by Malaysia-based MOL (Money Online) and now revived as an online gaming portal. After a while, finally MOL decided to enter Indonesian market by establishing a company PT. MOL AccessPortal and apparently has a dedicated man running the country operations since September 2011.
