Movie Review Service Filmoo Ceased Operation, Still Exist in Twitter

Movie information and review service Filmoo confirmed that it has stopped operating until further notice. As being announced in its Twitter account, the decision came from the management. Filmoo is a bootstrapping startup and most likely it's unable to attract investor or gain continuous revenue for its establishment. Filmoo representation will still be available in Twitter to share updates on movies with its followers.

Filmoo is founded in mid 2010 as positioned itself as Indonesian version of IMDB -- the largest Internet movie database -- by giving latest movie info, review and rating for local and foreign films. Although there are gazilion of movie fans in Indonesia, apparently Filmoo hasn't reached the expectation. The latest news posted in Filmoo was dated on September 28.

As of today, Filmoo has around 2600 fans in Facebook and more than 5000 followers in Twitter. While in neglected situation, Filmoo's Twitter service keeps running and the followers still give their support for Filmoo's existence.

There are only few startups and online services in Indonesia that aim on films and their communities. Other than Filmoo, AnakNonton and Flick Magazine are among services that have similar genre. There's also Movreak which specifically giving movie schedule in its mobile app.

We have tried to reach one of Filmoo co-founder regarding this situation but hasn't got any answer.
