Online Beauty Sampling Startup Lolabox Goes Live, Receives Investment From Grupara
Beauty sampling is kind of big these days especially in the region where we have a lot of activities from companies like VanityTrove, Glossybox, Bellabox, Joliebox and many more. Currently the biggest player in the region, VanityTrove Indonesia is about to face a serious competition by Lolabox. Officially launched today, Lolabox founded by two ex Rocket Internet Indonesia, Christian Sutardi (CEO) and Cynthia Chaerunnisa (CMO).
Cynthia Chaerunnisa left her position at Rocket Internet’s Food Panda as PR & marketing manager in November of last year to start Lolabox, which is currently still self-funded. Before joining Rocket Internet, Chaerunnisa had a marketing stint at Ismaya Group’s Pizza é Birra and before that, Mitra Adi Perkasa, two of Indonesia’s largest retail and hospitality groups. She was joined in February by Christian Sutardi, former sales and operations manager at Food Panda who had been with Rocket for more than a year.
“I always looked into business models and found beauty boxes the most attractive one for this market. Some sources say that Indonesia’s top online spender is 27, female, urban, college educated”, said Sutardi during an interview with our own Aulia Masna a few months ago before launching Lolabox.
The company is based in Kemang, Jakarta and also backed by Grupara Inc as external investors. Besides Grupara Inc, Lolabox also partners with Weekend Inc, a design studio with vast experiences in crafting UI, UX and developing technology for digital products.
