Ovo Partners with Hooq, Introducing Service Integration

Hooq subscription payment is now available via Ovo

Hooq and Ovo announce the strategic partnership. Users can now pay subscription fees via Ovo and they'll get special offers to access content on Hooq.

The partnership is to extend opportunities in acquiring users. Hooq is currently one of the biggest movie and video on demand service in Indonesia, in terms of many Indonesian movie productions supported by Hooq.

On the other hand, Ovo is a major competitor for Go-Pay as the leading e-money platform. Some of Ovo's strategic partnership in 2018 have succeeded in boosting popularity and increasing users. One is the strategic partnership with Tokopedia, replacing TokoCash as "digital money" and an instant payment method.

Both Hooq and Ovo are trying to top the market in each segment. Ovo with its plan to acquire more users by making innovations and strategic partnerships. It is said that Ovo currently has 350,000 merchant partners in 212 cities. Hooq, is trying to make it as the first choice by providing box office movies with "budget" price or daily subscription for Rp3,900.

Bithos explained further that this partnership shows Hooq uniqueness, and an innovative investment in their platform to integrate with others.

Hooq users, through this partnership, can use Ovo balance to make subscription payment. In terms of Ovo users, there will be special offers at cut-price to attract new users.

"Our vision is to be accessible for everyone. Thus, we'll continue to expand and develop strategic partnership as part of our open economy strategy. Through the partnership with Hooq, we expect to provide the best experience for our 60 million users by allowing them to browse, pay, and watch entertainment on our platform," Jason Thompson, Ovo's CEO, said.
