PINS Indonesia and Huawei Inaugurated A Partnership on Bandung Smart City

Telkom Group’s PT PINS Indonesia inaugurated its partnership with Huawei upon the development of the smart city project in Bandung. The ratification was done by PT. PINS Indonesia’s CEO Mustapa Wangsaatmadja and PT Huawai Tech Investment’s CEO Sheng Kai during the Indonesian-China Economic Corporation Forum in China.

By the partnesrhip, PT. PINS Indonesia will implement numerous Huawei’s solutions, such as the solution of supervision and video analysis to watch over the traffic condition, crime hotspots, and tourism spots, in order to realize the smart city project. Both parties also committed to present the Wi-Fi high density solution as a mobile network hub which covers all tourism destinations and crime hotspots.

Bandung has indeed been regarded as the role model of smart city in Indonesia by many. The tech atmosphere in the city, caring and fully-equipped local government, as well as the presence of open-minded society make the implementation of the project there a lot easier.

Ridwan Kamil, Bandung’s Major, has also introduced Bandung Command Center, a program of monitoring the whole Bandung through a single facility that also processes real-time reports made by citizens. Moreover, the Technology Institute of Bandung (ITB) also plans to open the Open Innovation Lab program as a place where people may exchange their thoughts and ideas.

Smart city has become the main theme of development in Indonesia. No less than Jakarta, Banyuwangi, and many others aiming to implement the concept in their own city.
