Plasa CEO Iriana Muadz Resigns
We just received news that Plasa CEO, Iriana Muadz has officially resigned today. Iriana officially took the CEO hat since March 2011 together with COO Widi Nugroho. Previously Iriana spend a long time working in FMCG industry and held marketing director role at Heinz ABC and Bintang Toedjoe.
Under her leadership, Plasa tried to strengthen their position in online retail with rebranding effort that includes a significant redesign and the omission of the entity Mojopia, previously the brain executing Plasa's transition from online portal to ecommerce. Plasa also try their luck in media, working together with Microsoft to build MSN news portal dubbed PlasaMSN and in direct competition with current incumbent Yahoo! Indonesia. PlasaMSN replaces the long-time abandoned MSN Indonesia and they hired Wicaksono (popular local blogger and journalist popularly known as Ndorokakung).
This is the second time Plasa CEO resigned after Shinta Dhanuwardoyo resigned as the CEO at the end of 2010. Currently we don't have any information as to who will replace Iriana as the new CEO (or interim CEO like last time). It's most likely that COO Widi Nugroho will run day-to-day operation until board of directors assign a new CEO to run the government-funded e-commerce site.
