Sikremut, Not Just Another Commuter Line Schedule
After Nyepur, schedule information service also provided by Sikremut (Sistem Informasi Kereta Komuter – Commuter Line Information System). The difference between the two is Nyepur is a web application while Sikremut presents in a form of Android application. Sikremut is made by Luminascape, a team of students of the Faculty of Computer Science University of Indonesia.
Luminascape, the creator of this application, consists of Ardi Al Haidar, Ade Kurniawati, Yasmin Khairina, Mira Roderica, Fitria Nila Kanti, Radityo Eko, and Wanda Kinasih. Sikremut project, which originally was just a class project, is developed to be an application that can be enjoyed by Jabodetabek commuter line users.
To make Sikremut as an option amongst other applications that provide information on commuter line schedule, Luminascape is trying to develop different feature. In addition to train schedule, Sikremut also has KRL station map, closest station location using the GPS, and reminder alarm features. The station map feature makes it possible for users to know the location of the station on the map and train route. Train route is presented in different colors to make it easier for users to look at.
Closest station feature also used to find closest station as well as finding the fastest route to get to the station from the user’s current location. The reminder alarm feature will remind user when they are already in 300m range from the designated station.
According to Ardi Al Haidar, in an interview via email, Luminascape still plans further development of Sikremut application. They will also create the BlackBerry and Nokia version for this application. From the feature side, they are hoping to work together with PT KAI Commuter to get information in case of change of schedule. By working together, Luminascape hopes to develop the live tracker feature so user can track in realtime the location of the train.
For Android users, you can download this application from Google Play.
