Telkomsel Partners with Google to Facilitate Corporate Device Setup

Telkomsel makes Google a strategic partner to adopt Android  Zero-touch Enrollment in Indonesia. It is part of the company's commitment to increase B2B market.

Android Zero-touch Enrollment is Google's solution to simplify the company's device setup and deployment. It comes from Google business unit since 2015, Android Enterprises.

Telkomsel's SVP Enterprise Account Management, Dharma Simorangkir explained that most companies have difficulty in setting their inventory following the safety standard before being distributed to all employees.

The process could take as much as five months due to the massive amount of devices. Therefore, one by one should be installed with the developed software for security reason.

"Because of the long deployment process, most people prefer the conventional way. On the other hand, companies are aiming to increase employee's productivity by providing working devices," he said on Monday (7/15).

Using Google's solution, the company can cut-off some time and make it into a five-minute job. Also supported by Telkomsel, the deployment process is available online and massive, for the device can automatically set under the company's configuration and be used right away.

In this stage, the partnership between both companies starts from the device's security. It is the main figure to guarantee all apps to be safely deployed to all devices.

In addition, big companies are getting aware of the device's safety along with the current trend of mobile working.

"Various software was made for enterprise. When the time comes for deployment, many stakeholders questioning whether this is going to last or not, they afraid this will interfere with their business. Thus, we put the security step early. Furthermore, there will be more solutions to offer."

Android Enterprise's Regional Manager, Gerard Kennedy added, the Android Zero-touch Enrollment assure the device's safety with encryption and multiple security systems that lighten IT support's job in the company.

The service is to be used for various smartphone brands with Android OS to make it easier for the company to choose the device based on budget and requirements.

Dharma added, the solution is not only for big companies but also for SME players. They can adopt digital technology from this solution to cut the cost. Soon, Telkomsel is to release a solution for this business segment.
