Vidiator and MKN Launches “Strim” Mobile Streaming Platform for Music and Video

Telecommunication vendor, Mitra Komunikasi Nusantara (MKN), working together with multimedia company Vidiator, announce the availability of “Strim” for mobile streaming service for music and video. Strim showcase was done in Singapore in the CommunicAsia 2012 event.

MKN is a local Android cell phone producer with the brand Cyrus and will join hands with operator and broadcasting company to fill this platform.

Based on Xenon solution offered by Vidiator, Strim will accommodate music and video content access in high definition even for small screen. This solution is not only accessible through web browser but also from WAP or in the form of Android app. All content will be hosted in Indonesia and will be accessible through cloud.

Vidiator is a global multimedia company that owned offices in Hong Kong, Korea and England. Big operators that are Vidiator’s clients are Telefonica, Orange, and Three. Moreover, Vidiator is also partnering with many companies in the field including Nokia Siemens Network.

As reported in the official release, MKN’s CEO, Martin Suharlie said that the cooperation between MKN and Vidiator allows customer to access needed streaming service and solving the problem of other cellular operators – which arguably is not optimal. Later on, there will be prepaid card which will automatically registerd to Strim’s service. It is not mentioned which operator will be the partner.

Today, streaming service in Indonesia, both for music and video, is booming. Lately, we interviewed Ohdio which provides music streaming facility. Unfortunately, Ohdio hasn’t provided mobile access. For mobile world, there’s already ViKi which focusing on many smartphone platforms.

Strim will look for a gap where feature phone or low-end Android phone can stream music and video content with optimum quality. The whole time, the one which is popular to play in the same field as Strim is Vuclip. With thorough solution, Strim is expected to give the best experience.
