XL Axiata Customers Can Now Purchase Comic Books at Ngomik.com

After opening the opportunity to buy the comic (premium) through Telkomsel, Ngomik.com is now expanding its cooperation with XL Axiata. Starting February 6th with the same system like SMS (send SMS to 9296), buyers can easily access the desired comic by cutting the balance or operator billing. Price range for comic today is Rp 500 to Rp 5.000. The cooperation between Ngomik.com and Telkomsel has been ongoing on since July 2011.

The fee split is 60% to author and 40% for Ngomik.com. That is after deducting other costs (including operator fee). Payment via billing operator is the 2nd scheme supported by cash deposit via bank transfer. It appears that the scheme is successful enough to attract authors and generate enough revenue. Ngomik.com is one of the few startups aiming to increase the diversity of comic books from local artists.

Ngomik.com has received a number of awards. In 2011, this startup has won Bubu Awards for the Product/Consumer category and SparxUp Awards for The Best User Generated Content. With many innovations that they've done, we are quite optimistic that the development of local comics community will be greatly helped by the presence of Ngomik.com.
